What's On - Book Here

Samhain/Halloween Women's Circle Friday 03rd of May

Date: 03 May 2024
Time: 5.20 pm - 9.40 pm
Where: The Moon Lodge, Aldgate (address will be sent after purchase)

This time is of honoring our ancestors, the Wise Crone and the cycle of birth and death.

Samhain (pronounced Sow-In) is a truly potent and magical time, as the veils between the worlds of life and death are thin, and we are able to access information and guidance from Spirit, our ancestors and our Guides and honour them. We are the sum of all our family trees and generations before us.

This time is of honoring our ancestors, the Wise Crone and the cycle of birth and death. As we continue this descent into Winter, what is actually happening is Mother Earth is letting out a beautiful exhale.

As we sit on the threshold of Winter and this time of year our environment is calling us to slow down and prepare for the coming dark cold days.

It is the last chance to ‘let go’ of what no longer serves us before we remain still over Winter.

We will be using the ancient medicine of our womens circle to hold space for each of us to give thanks to the departed loves ones, many of whose may have left us prematurely. Calling them in, giving thanks and honoring their wisdom. All life is sacred and to be remembered during this decent into Winter. You will receive the gratitude in your heart for the ones who have walked before us as we honor their lives and wisdom.

We will eat, share, create and participate in ritual together, using the ‘circle as shaman’ as we weave our stories into the wisdom and medicine we need to hear for our own personal life journey.

The evening will deepen connections, trust, love, and friendship between women. If weather permits we will be using the outdoor —circle space and fire pit on my land in Aldgate.

Womb Lodge Ceremony Saturday 4th of May

Date: 04 May 2024
Time: 4.00 pm - 9.30 pm
Where: The Womb Lodge, Aldgate (address will be sent after purchase)

Thousands of years ago our ancestors understood the cycles of Life, the way rhythms worked – the ebbing and the flowing of the seasons and our bodies. Now it’s your turn.

Ceremonies involving sweating and a small cave like structures have been used in every indigenous culture of the world for both healing and ritual purposes involving prayer, song and communication with Spirit. That said, there is a distinction to be made with each cultures ceremonial approach and the term they call it. From the celts in Europe, the indigenous in America and Australia, there is historical evidence for hundreds of years of this practice- and that this practice is inclusive of the world.

The Womb Lodge is the weaving together of my experience participating in the Lakota Sweat Lodge in India, the UK, the USA and Australia,  and my Celtic ancestry of sweat houses historically found in Wales, Ireland and Europe. The ceremony is a weaving of the Women’s Wheel and the four directions, honoring our selves as women journeying through this feminine wheel connecting us to all things; our bodies, our Earth and each other.

As with all ceremonial structures, the Womb Lodge is a living sacred presence, a holy place, a reflection of all creation and should be respected as such. She is a living sacred cave, or womb, where we come and experience healing, soul illumination and self empowerment, so we may re-member what we have forgotten. She is a place to be connected to the earth, our heart, each other and spirit. A place for prayer, song and release. With her small entrance, she invites us in to open up to Life, but also encourages us to go out again and live in the great Mystery. And because of this, she offers us a very deep experience; mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.  A ‘whole’ or ‘holy’ experience.

There are many reasons to be called to participate in a Womb Lodge ceremony.  Maybe you are looking for a deeper connection to the Earth, our hearts or Spirit.  Maybe you want to immerse yourself in the greater whole of the world and feel the simplicity of your breath and the coolness of the Earth.  Maybe you are feeling the need to connect in prayer, with song, with others in community or you yearn for purification and heat, a primal place of source that calls you….

What ever the calling, the Womb Lodge will take you to a humble place of openness, a place of rebirth where you may walk forward having participated in holy communion with the Great Mystery

The ceremony involves entering the lodge either naked, or with bathers and a sarong, bowing our heads to the Earth as we enter.  We find our place in the circle of the lodge.   Four ‘rounds’, each with a different intention are facilitated.  At the beginning of each ‘round’ hot rocks are brought into the lodge and placed into the centre pit.  The door is closed creating a small dark womb space. Water is placed onto the rocks creating steam and a hot environment. This environment is conducive to clear intentions and prayer that is of the deepest sincerity and authenticity.  We circle individually in prayer – for each other directions and each other and journey deeper within ourselves with each ‘round’. We are then re-birthed into the cool night air around the fire as we exit the lodge, again bowing our heads to the Earth.

We will sing, pray, connect to the Earth and be reborn fresh on to the soil of our Great Mother.

No experience of a sweating ceremony is necessary.  This is a women’s only lodge.

Please bring a plate of vegan/ vegetarian food to share to feast after our ceremony.  Salad, soup, frittata etc or a desert that is not too sweet.

It is recommended to fast from midday.

11 places available.

2 Day Drum Making Workshop 7-8th May

2 day non-residential Drum Making Workshop on Kangaroo Island. The drum is a cross-cultural instrument and Shamanic tool used for thousands of years across all continents. It is the call of the heartbeat, the wild self, and the song of Mother Earth. Its the sound of coming home.
FULLY BOOKED

Your body was formed to the beat of a drum. It was one of the first sounds we heard as we were developing foetuses in our mother’s womb. It is the primordial sound of the mother’s heartbeat, as each cell of our body is formed creating the person you are now. Each cell was created with the music of the drum, the beat that has sung true through the generations who have come before us, and those who will come after us.

The drum is a universal instrument. Not owned by any culture. It has been played by the Celts in Europe, the Native Americans in the USA, and all through Africa, South and Central America, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia for thousands of years. For this reason, you, being who you are today, have the ancestral memory of long ago playing the drum. It is a cross-cultural instrument and Shamanic tool used for thousands of years across all continents. It is the call of the heartbeat, the wild self, and the song of Mother Earth.

Its the sound of coming home.

Join us over these 2 days, as we create our own beautiful sacred drums. This process of ‘birthing’ a drum allows us to explore our own birth imprint of how we were born into this world, and how this pattern plays out in all our creative endeavours.

We will be sitting in sacred circle together sharing from our hearts, exploring these birth imprints, and finally birthing our own 15 inch round hoop drum.

Birthing your own drum and doing it in this sacred manner, exploring why we drum, how we as women have always been drummers, and that the drum belongs to no particular religion or culture will be covered over the weekend. Weaving the threads of our own birth, and how we birth our projects, babies and creative pursuits into the journey, ends with you owning your own personal Sacred Drum to walk forwards from herewith.

Drums are life-long companions who remind us to live from our hearts rather than our head. Its life is only available to us because an Animal and Tree has been sacrificed and no longer walks with us. This is honoured in our process of creation over the weekend, and we will be working with the Kangaroo medicine to fully respect and honour this kind and gentle animal.

Your completed drum can be used for whatever your heart yearns. Shamanic journeys, music-making, connecting to nature, re-membering ourselves, remembering the call of our heart, during ceremony, at sunset and dawn, to mark a birth, a death, or your menstrual cycle each month – the uses of this most special instrument are endless.

We will be sitting together on Artemis’s land in Aldgate. (Making a medicine drum, and it being a tool to connect you to nature, it is beautiful for the skin to be soaked in living water, which we will have access to from the creek).

Connecting together in this potent way, you will leave feeling immersed in the sacred feminine and more connected to the mystery’s of life and the community of women around you.

You will:

There is a NO REFUND policy if you are unable to attend, however, your place can be transferred to another woman (friend or family you know).

Please note – there are only eight (8) places for this workshop. No previous experience in attending a women’s circle, drumming or shamanic journeying is required. All women over 18year old are welcome.

This is not a residential workshop. You will go home on Thursday evening and return Friday morning.

Winter Solstice/Yule Women’s Circle Friday 28th of June

Winter Solstice is the celebration of the longest night and the shortest, darkest day of the year.

Winter Solstice | Yule is the celebration of the longest night and the shortest, darkest day of the year. We celebrate that we have traveled to this deep dark day and that the longer and lighter days are now in front of us.

As Yule is the celebration of death, the void, and birth, we will explore what we need to let go of, what lies in the void, and what seeds in our lives are gestating now over Winter.

This seasonal ritual is about the natural rhythms of our Great Mother Earth and her cycle of birth, growth, full bloom, harvest, decay, and death.

The same cyclical nature of seasons, the moon, our menstrual cycle, and our lives as women moving through the stages of Maiden, Mother, Maga, and Crone.

We will eat, share, create, and using the Circle as Shaman, bear witness to each other, share and hold space. The magic of this medium allows a gentle unfolding and connections to be made between each woman over the course of the evening.

We will also be doing a drum journey, an exercise in experiencing the void and making a symbolic lantern to carry us through these dark days.

The evening will deepen connections.

Imbolc
Friday 2nd of August

Imbolc is a time of new hope, creativity and beginnings. We celebrate the ‘return of light’ as the days start to get longer and the nights decrease.

Imbolc is a time of new hope, creativity and beginnings. We celebrate the ‘return of light’ as the days start to get longer and the nights decrease. There is a feeling of being ‘almost there’ as the energy of Imbolc is budding and emerging.

As we emerge from the long cold days, Imbolc is a fresh start to the women’s wheel.

Creative pursuits and dreams have been, until now, gestating quietly waiting for the right time to emerge as we took time to hibernate, restore and rest in Winter. We will explore what we wish to bring into our lives for the next twelve months. And because of this, it’s the perfect time to join a circle if you have not been before.

Imbolc is the time to have a Spring clean, look at what you don’t want to carry into the next year ahead – physically and metaphorically.

Is there anything you need to let go of in order to care for other priorities or dreams?

Imbolc is a beautiful time to plant seeds of intent for these dreams you have been gestating.

We will eat, share, sing, create and laugh together, using the ‘circle as shaman’ as we weave our stories into the wisdom and medicine we need to hear for our own personal life journey. We hold a safe and beautifully warm circle where all women feel the heart’s openness and connection.

Celebration Day for Girls Sunday
11th of August

The day a girl gets her first period is possibly her most important rite of passage. This event is a beautiful way of breaking through this entrenched taboo topic.
Private Event

The day a girl gets her first period is possibly her most important rite of passage.

She will never go back to being a child in the same way again. Now fertile she needs to be respected amongst society as a growing and developing woman.

Celebration Day for Girls brings a sense of excitement, belonging, appreciation, and wonder to this stage of becoming being a woman and having a menstrual cycle. This one day workshop is designed for 10-12 years old girls with their mother or female carer. A carefully crafted day supports girls and their mothers at this special threshold in both their lives, and provides an affirming, grounded, and connected celebration of the journey to womanhood.

Too often periods aren’t talked about. This leads to embedded shame and embrassment for girls and their bodies.  They become secretive and shy over topics that can actually empower them to know their body and how to support and love it.  Over time this embedded shame, fear and embarrassment can manifest as menstrual dysfunction and disregulation, as well as girls feeling powerless around their body and its needs.  This could look like painful periods, and more serious health conditions like endometriosis, polcystic ovarian syndrome and fibroids.  It also impacts girls and their capacity to speak up for oneself through their growing years with body automony, and even as far as how they choose to birth their babies.  What happens for a girl during these important years becomes a rite of passage from child to Maiden.

Teaching and empowering our girls about their body and how to support it, gives girls license and permission to follow their bodies rhythm, natural flow, intuition and to use their voice.

This event is a beautiful way of breaking through this entrenched taboo topic. In the west, we don’t know what to do to prepare a girl for this time. The conversation is typically reserved for a special day at school when a teacher clinically talks about reproduction and growing bodies. At Celebration for Girls we engage in lively discussion, fun creative activities, women’s stories, information and a gentle celebration of the magical threshold of puberty and menarche.

During the day girls are warmly invited into the time-honored, nurturing connection and support women have long shared with each other. Our focus is on creating a strong sense of mutual sharing and support around menstruation. Many participants report that their mother-daughter relationship is enriched and enlivened as the doors of communication in this key area of female experience and development are opened wide.

For more information please see the national website  https://celebrationdayforgirls.com/.

PLEASE NOTE: There are two days required for this event. The first event and second half the day event is for the mothers/female carers. Daughters attend the full day session only.

1) Mums Night. Generally held on a Wednesday Evening 6.30-8.45pm.  Mothers or female carers attend this without their daughter.

and

2) The full Sunday from 9.30am – 4.15pm

9.30 am-1pm daughters attend. 1 pm – 4.15 pm Mothers and femal carers join for a joint session with both mums and daughters, in the afternoon.

3 day Drum Making Workshop
23rd - 25th of August

Each cell of our body has been created with this pulse, this rhythm of sound, this beat of the drum. This relationship with rhythm and the drum beginning in the womb.

“It is often said that the first sound we hear in the womb is our mother’s heartbeat. Actually, the first sound to vibrate our newly developed hearing apparatus is the pulse of our mother’s blood through her veins and arteries. We vibrate to that primordial rhythm even before we have ears to hear.”

And so it is, each cell of our body has been created with this pulse, this rhythm of sound, this beat of the drum. This relationship with rhythm and the drum beginning in the womb.

The drum is a universal instrument, not owned by any culture. Played for thousands of years across all continents; by Celts in Europe, Native Americans in the USA, and all through Africa, South and Central America, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. You have the ancestral memory of long ago playing the drum. This cross-cultural instrument and Shamanic tool is the call of the heartbeat, the wild self, and the song of Mother Earth.

It’s the sound of coming home.

And now, as we sit in 2024, it feels like thousands of years since we have been drum carriers.  Indeed, it is a long time.  But we are re-membering these ancient ways.  We are hearing the call of the great Mother, the call of the drum.  We are awakening to the Feminine and the heartbeat of Mother Earth.  We are re-claiming the old ways, the ways we used to be, connected to the Earth, to our bodies, to each other and to the pulse of the drum and Life.

We have indeed sat in circle and played our drums for longer then we haven’t – we just don’t remember.  Our ancestors lived like this for thousands of years.  We have this wisdom and knowledge in our bones.

And now it is time for us to unravel, and reweave our relationship to the Feminine, to ourselves, to ritual, to ceremony, and to the drum.  It is time for us to sing, to dance and to be reminded that we are indeed a part of nature.  Not a part from nature.  Its time to remember our connection to the Moon, to our menstruating bodies, to each other, to the Earth – and to step forwards and make claim to something that was once stolen, shamed and hidden.

Its time to reclaim your Power, connect to other women and become a drum carrier again.

I am so looking forward to sitting in this sacred space with you and supporting this journey.

You will be lovingly welcomed into a community of women as we live together for three days and two nights. We will journey and share stories, we will bare witness to each other as we are held in the sacred container of Circle as Shaman (the process of allowing the circle to draw the wisdom from us, learning and unraveling together). We will be nourished with organic meals, catered for gluten free and vegans, as well as those who prefer animal protein – and we will be lovingly held by a community of women here to fully support you.

Spring Equinox
29 September

Spring Equinox is the time of equal day and night and serves as the perfect opportunity to look within and discover what we need in order to have balance in our lives.

Spring Equinox is the time of equal day and night and serves as the perfect opportunity to look within and discover what we need in order to have balance in our lives.

This time of increased light also represents new life, birth, sprouting growth, and the Maiden with her first period. We will explore this time and journey into our womb space to meet our Maiden Self for deep healing and acknowledgment of our Menarche. Using this medicine we bring sustenance into our lives to nurture any ‘new growths’ that we are creating.

This shamanic process will support you in gaining access to your wild authentic self, unashamed of her blood, body and femininity.

Your inner maiden will be seen, heard, held and loved as she is reunited with your adult self and the life you live today.

We will eat, share, sing, create and laugh together, using the ‘circle as shaman’ as we weave our stories into the wisdom and medicine we need to hear for our own personal life journey. The evening will deepen connections, trust, love, and friendship between women.

Wilderness Solo in Victoria
25 October - 01 November

A time to adorn your wild skin; reconnect, and know what it is to truly belong at the core of your being.

Within our society, and in the way most of us live, we have lost the connection to soul initiation.  Soul initiation as a doorway through to something else…. it transforms us; within and without, micro (at the cellular level) and macro (life path/style), in a way that cannot best be described with words. It must be experienced, as it is truly an embodiment pathway.

This is an invitation to say “Yes” to a path that will carry you across this threshold. Yes, to digging deeper.  Yes, to opening further. Yes, to surrendering even more. Yes to trusting the unknown…

We invite you in, to a community of women, a place of storytelling, on ancient land, in reciprocity, for the purpose of re-wilding (re-membering your wild intuitive Self). A time to adorn your wild skin; reconnect, and know what it is to truly belong at the core of your being.

Is your wild soul calling you home?

Beltane
Friday 15th November

Beltane is the ceremony celebrating peak Spring, the Sun, and the passionate union of the masculine and feminine.

Beltane is the ceremony celebrating peak Spring, the Sun, and the passionate union of the masculine and feminine. At this time of rising energy, as we approach the end of Spring and the beginning of Summer, Beltane would be marked by giving thanks for our fertile lives, our creativity, and our gender-specific gifts and roles. It was celebrated with passion to encourage the continual turning of the wheel and bring on the peak light of Summer Solstice.

Traditionally this time was celebrated with the lighting of fires in each country town.

The flames and their light symbolising the passionate union between the masculine and the feminine.  Dancing and singing were customary, and celebrations honoring the healing powers of sexual union and fertility were performed. Fires honoring the return of the light were lit and communities gathered to laugh, dance, sing and be merry!

This evening will allow you to dance and release your wild feminine essence with the sisters around you. Hearing the stories of a like minded community, and their own relationships to their bodies and sexuality is both liberating, deeply healing and empowering as we connect with our bodies and the wild ancient rituals of fertility.

We will eat, share, sing, create and laugh together, using the ‘circle as shaman’ as we weave our stories into the wisdom and medicine we need to hear for our own personal life journey. And there will be Fire!

Summer Solstice
Saturday 21st December

Summer Solstice celebrates the longest daylight hours of the year, a climax of great openness and expansion of energy and enthusiasm.

Summer Solstice celebrates the longest daylight hours of the year, a climax of great openness and expansion of energy and enthusiasm. This season of peak light emblazoned by seasonal bloom and fruiting, aligns with the fullness of mothering, maximum potential, beauty, and ripeness on the top of the Women’s Wheel.

It is the perfect time to look at what we are manifesting, and give great thanks for the fruition of our potential ‘crops’ (intentions we planted) during Spring.

This time is representative of ovulation in the seasonal wheel and menstrual cycle.

This time will be used to add fuel to our lives and intentions. Using our voices, presence, and songs to revere each of us in our full beauty and ripeness.  We will be experiencing a sound bath, and focus our circle on honouring our mothers in all their shades of dark and light – as well as how we ‘mother’ ourselves’.

Standing in the centre, the full light and focus of a sound bath will set your intentions clearly and open your heart.  You will come away being opened, with an embodied uplifting of energy representing the peak of this time, and have a full open heart. The vibration of sound shifting and circulating that which may feel stuck in our body will open up ways to move forwards from here.

We will eat, share, create, and laugh together, using the ‘circle as shaman’ as we weave our stories into the wisdom and medicine we need to hear for our own personal life journey.

This is the last of the celebrations before we begin the descent into the autumnal ‘harvest’ time of shedding, light receding, and ‘letting go’ as we move closer towards the ‘underworld’ and Winter.
